Urban Univ’s previous website had accumulated a lot of content over time, with multiple pages containing similar or paraphrased information. This redundancy not only created confusion for users but also resulted in a cluttered and inefficient navigation experience. As the site became more complex, it became harder for visitors to find what they needed quickly. The design was outdated, and mobile responsiveness was limited, which led to poor user engagement and frustration for visitors.
To tackle the content overload, our team conducted a thorough audit of the site’s existing pages. We identified areas where information overlapped and consolidated these pages into streamlined, focused content. By simplifying the structure and reducing redundancy, we made it easier for users to find exactly what they were looking for. This redesign allowed us to prioritize key educational resources and programs, ensuring they were front and center for visitors.
The previous website design did not offer a seamless experience across devices, with a particular challenge in mobile optimization. Visitors accessing the site via smartphones or tablets often had difficulty navigating and reading content. This inconsistency in user experience led to higher bounce rates and lower overall engagement, especially from students who rely on mobile devices for quick access to information.
We addressed the mobile optimization issue by implementing a fully responsive design that ensures the website looks and functions perfectly across all screen sizes. With a mobile-first approach, we made sure that all the key features, including resource access, event updates, and program information, were easily accessible on smartphones and tablets. This enhancement allows users to have a seamless and enjoyable experience, regardless of the device they are using.
The website's visual design was cluttered, and its aesthetic no longer matched the dynamic and modern identity of Urban Univ. With a high volume of text and outdated graphics, it lacked the visual appeal necessary to engage users and reflect the organization's forward-thinking approach. The design felt stale, and it didn’t capture the vibrancy of the educational programs and resources Urban Univ offers.
We transformed the site’s design with a minimalist aesthetic, focusing on bold typography, clean layouts, and engaging visuals. The new design incorporates modern elements that reflect Urban Univ’s mission and ethos, while also offering a more engaging, vibrant experience. With fewer distractions and more focused design elements, we created a website that’s not only easy on the eyes but also more enjoyable to interact with.
The original website’s design didn’t encourage users to interact or engage with the content, leading to low retention rates. It lacked interactive features, such as events registration, user feedback options, or clear paths for visitors to take action.
We integrated interactive elements that encouraged user participation, including an easy-to-use event registration system and options for users to submit feedback or get involved with programs. The redesigned site features engaging, action-driven pages, allowing users to quickly sign up for programs, learn more about upcoming events, and stay connected with Urban Univ’s offerings. This has led to increased engagement, with more students interacting with the site and accessing available resources.
